Submissions for the Holiday Half-Issue now open!

Holiday Half-Issue submissions are now open, for one week, from today until November 17th. We’re looking for short, funny winter-themed stories. Christmas, Hannukah, New Year’s, abominable snowmen, the world’s largest slushball fight, that kind of thing. And, for this week only, we’ll even consider rhyming poetry. But only rhyming! We don’t know enough about poetry we can’t read in a sing-song manner.

Send your holiday submissions to submissions@jerseydevilpress.com with the words Holiday Submission in the subject line. The issue itself will go up sometime toward the middle of December.

Regular Submissions Closed Until January

The big bold font basically says it all. Regular submissions are now closed, but will re-open in early January. If you’ve already submitted, rest assured we have it and we should get back to you by the end of the week.

Holiday Half-Issue submissions will open on November 10th for one week. We’re looking for short, funny winter-themed stories. Christmas, Hannukah, New Year’s, abominable snowmen, the world’s largest slushball fight, that kind of thing.

In the meantime, be sure to re-read Issue Fourteen. Featuring work by Sandra Bazzarelli, Chloe Caldwell, Michael Frissore, Hilary Gan, and Annam Manthiram, it’s one of our best issues yet. It’ll give you a good idea of what we’re looking for in all those future submissions. More importantly, though, it will change your life forever. Seriously. I know I’m a better person for having read it.

Happy Halloween!

Reminder, regular submissions close at midnight tonight! Winter holiday submissions will be open for a week, starting November 10th!

In the meantime, assuming you’re not already in a sugar coma or weeping inconsolably about the suckitude of the Jets today, enjoy a suitably spooky story by the masterful Mike Sweeney over at the always awesome amphibi.us. It’s almost like they put the story up specifically for Halloween or something.
