Holiday Half-Issue 2011

Almost Every November, Eirik Gumeny
“‘Test subject TMO-3,’ he panted. ‘He’s loose.'”

The Resurrection of Old Saint Nick, Samuel Snoek-Brown
“Step 1: Gather the bones of Santa Claus.”

Chinese Take-Out, Stephen Schwegler
“The mall was the last human stronghold of the avian apocalypse: a fortified monument to consumerism.”

The Long Happy New Year of Dora Wellington, Laura Garrison
“It was ten minutes to midnight on New Year’s Eve, and Dora was the only one in her grandparents’ house who was still awake.”

Submissions for the Holiday Half-Issue now open!

Holiday Half-Issue submissions are now open, for one week, from today until November 17th. We’re looking for short, funny winter-themed stories. Christmas, Hannukah, New Year’s, abominable snowmen, the world’s largest slushball fight, that kind of thing. And, for this week only, we’ll even consider rhyming poetry. But only rhyming! We don’t know enough about poetry we can’t read in a sing-song manner.

Send your holiday submissions to submissions@jerseydevilpress.com with the words Holiday Submission in the subject line. The issue itself will go up sometime toward the middle of December.
